The more I learn about Mars Hill and Mark Driscoll, the more that I find my assumptions are correct. And also, the more I hate him and his “church”:
According to Andrew, at Mars Hill, the cliche “it takes two to tango” isn’t true. Why? Because Pastor Mark teaches that women are “weaker vessels,” and therefore, when a girl and boy engage in consensual sexual activity, it is always assumed that it’s the man’s fault because he failed to lead the woman (or “weaker vessel”) toward righteousness. (And everybody knows that women can’t find righteousness unless a man leads her there. Ugh.)
Read the whole article, both parts. It’s pathetic, disgusting, and shows that the “elders” of the church care for nothing more than power.
Hey Owen, any chance you can bring your party to Seattle one day to run this guy out of town on a rail?
(And it’s not just Seattle, there are now - or will be soon - locations in Orange County, Albuquerque, and SE Portland.)
Mars Hill is a Seattle-based Evangelical mega church whose co-founder describes gayness as a cancer in sermons that reach millions of Americans every year.
The church has expanded in recent years from one church to nine churches, with plans in the works for three more. Including one in the heart of Sunnyside, one of the state’s most liberal congressional district (90 percent of neighborhood residents voted for Obama in 2008).
Read the rest here. And then remind these shit heads that their message of hate is unwelcome in Portland, Oregon.

Yep, this is happening.
