18 years?!?

Good morning, everyone. Join me in listening to this album all the way through, won’t you?

This can’t be played loud enough.

Especially on these shitty computer speakers.

Best Coast - The Only Place (from The Only Place)

I really need to pick up this album.

The Cramps - Human Fly

Play it loud. Really loud.

Tuesday afternoon jammy jams: Fresh Espresso - “We Desire What’s Real

This song is so smooth and relaxing. Makes me wish I was already home on my porch with a beverage in hand, taking in the day.

Arctic Monkeys - A Certain Romance (from Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not)

Sunny Friday afternoon jams.

This came on yesterday when I was walking home. I love when a band has a large enough catalog that even though I listen to them all the time I can still rediscover songs every once in a while.

Current status

I paid $60. I saw Arctic Monkeys tear the roof off a shitty arena where the Sonics used to play* in front of an incredibly apathetic bunch of teenagers.

I left before The Black Keys.

I have zero regrets. I’d do it again.**

*They don’t have point-of-sale credit card machines at KeyArena. Meaning every credit card purchase takes 10x as long as a cash purchase. Meaning angry half-drunk people have to stand in line for 20+ minutes to get an $8 Bud Light. No wonder the Sonics left. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to see a show there.

**To be fair, there were incredibly extenuating circumstances that caused this. I mean I’d pay $60 for Arctic Monkeys again, not that The Black Keys aren’t worth waiting for. They kick ass.

Arctic Monkeys & The Black Keys tomorrow

Get pumped.

Reblogging myself, because.

Beastie Boys - Body Movin’

Hello Nasty isn’t the greatest Beastie Boys album but it’s special to me because my son was obssessed with it. He was five years old when this came out. He got hooked on Intergalactic for a while but then made up dance moves to Body Movin and Remote Control and eventually made off with most of my BB CDs.

Yea, I know, five year olds shouldn’t be listening to that stuff because they’ll repeat it. Well, he did repeat something. The second week of school, his teacher said to me “We were learning about time and I asked the class ‘what time is it?’ and he said ‘Time to get ill!’” Luckily, she was young and got it and laughed.

It may not be the greatest, but it’s my favorite.
