Brockman, what are you doing?!

In case you’re wondering what the hell all of this is about — and if you’re not, mayhaps you should be — “Swagga Suits” are “unique […] onepiece jumpsuits” designed specifically for the tastes, measurements and comfort preferences of folks who support the University of Washington, where Brockman starred for four years before becoming a second-round draft pick of the Sacramento Kings in 2009, a group that includes UW students, faculty, alumni, fans and “Community” star Joel McHale.

#6 Arizona @ #9 Washington, Saturday, February 26th, 2005.

While the end result of this season was disappointing (a blowout loss to a much better Louisville team in the sweet sixteen), I think this is my favorite Husky team.

We camped out for this game (it wasn’t the first time), but this one was special because it was Senior Day, and the biggest home game since UW upset unbeaten Stanford the previous season. Romarville was in full force, with the first 20 or so tents going up Thursday night as soon as the Arizona State game was over.

We normally sat in the back row of the student section, but for this game we decided to switch it up and sit in the front row, putting us in the third row overall and just a few feet from the court. And it paid off, because I was able to get some pretty decent pictures (including that shot above of Lute Olson snubbing Brandon Roy prior to tipoff; also pictured is Romar and Salim Stoudamire).

Someone had gotten a hold of Channing Frye’s cell phone number, and every time he had the ball the crowd would chant the number at him. Unfazed, he still put up a cool 30 points and kept Arizona in the game.

In the end the Huskies prevailed, 93-85, and while Arizona still ended up winning the Pac-10 that year, UW beat them again to win the Pac-10 Tournament and earn a number one seed in the NCAA Tournament. Their second round game against Pacific is still the only tournament game I’ve ever been to.

Brandon Roy wasn’t even a starter on this team, FYI. Tre Simmons, Will Conroy, and Nate Robinson all started ahead of him.

(This post brought to you by the terrible inaugural season of the Pac-12. Let’s all pretend it’s 2005 again, okay?)

UW is on pace for a 20 point game

It’s okay. We can build in this.

Haters gonna hate, by I think UW’s slogan of “Go Purple. Be Gold.” is pretty good.

(USC @ UW bball game on Root Sports right now FYI.)

Every time Terrence Ross makes a great play

I scream “DemooooOOOOOS!!”

Anyone who grew up around Portland knows what I’m talking about.

News in 2011.

(I kid, I kid, Bob Condotta is actually a great journalist. He’s managed to write great daily columns for the Times while also integrating blogging, Twitter, and online video. It just cracks me up that this is how news comes out these days.)

Come find me and you can hang out with this chill dog. Husky fans are nothing if not faithful.
