Here Internet, I give you the view from my buddy’s backyard down in Oregon.
This is why you all want to move to the PNW.
(I just found a huge stash of old pictures I didn’t know were on this computer. Some gems like this might pop up on here in the next few days.)
Snow still blanketed much of Washington state on January 23, 2012, when the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on NASA’s Terra satellite captured these images. The top image is a natural-color scene similar to what our eyes would see from the sky. The bottom image is a false-color scene that better distinguishes between snow and clouds. Ice and snow are red. Liquid-water clouds are white, and ice clouds are peach. Vegetation is bright green.
Neat!
While you people were talking about the 99% and spoiling Parks and Recreation for me I went outside and took this picture from my backyard.
Two friends of mine who are avid hikers went on a pretty sweet expedition this weekend, and took some amazing pictures.
And yes, this is another reason why the northwest is awesome. Mt. Daniel is only a few hours outside of Seattle.
