Serious question, Tumblr-pals
All of this Sarah Phillips bullshit over at Deadspin is because she’s a woman, right?
I feel like hackery plays out all. the. time in all occupations, but because it was a girl who was doing it to sports it is MAJOR NEWS and VERY IMPORTANT to the sports blogs.
Just seems like another typical shit story from Gawker. Am I wrong?
This makes me giddy.
It’s articles like this that serve as constant reminders that Gawker Media is just a network of blogs employing bloggers, and not the media empire of journalists that they would like to be referred to as.
Look, I get it. The guys at Grantland make mistakes, some of which get corrected without notation while others don’t get corrected at all. And they don’t have comments or forums because they realized (thankfully) that most commenters and forum-goers are idiots and assholes. But posting all of the emails you receive about this does not make you look like the better blog, it makes you look like a bunch of smug whiners.
